A good kitchen design should fit your cooking style perfectly like a tailor-made suit. The design team at Saviesa Home Improvement have developed the unique 5-point Design Matrix. A unique planning tool that helps us design a beautiful and practical kitchen fully customised for you.
Saviesa’s application of ergonomics in kitchen design have transformed the often tiresome and sometimes painful process of cooking into a pleasurable one. So, no more bending, stretching, ducking or bumping. Everything in a Saviesa kitchen is planned to give you easy access and comfortable working. In an ergonomically designed kitchen, everything is well thought out. Every feature is designed in a way that makes the workflow efficient and fast. An ergonomically designed kitchen is a joy to work in.
If the depth of the wall unit is too much, you will end up banging your head on it every time. Ideally, the depth should not be more than 300 mm, when your countertop is 600 mm.
The countertop should not be too high, or too low, but be at just the right height for the person cooking. The right gap between the work-top and your elbows should be 10-15 cm.
Sort your contents into items that are often used, sometimes used and rarely used. If you store them at the right level you can say good-bye to stretching and bending.
Hinged shutters are often cumbersome, when you have to keep opening and closing them. You also end up hitting your head, if left open. Lift-ups move up and out of the way, so that you can leave your cabinet open, while you cook, making it easy for you to view and remove the items in it.
It is often difficult to stretch and reach into the back of cupboards, and sometimes painful too…especially for your back. Choose drawers and a full extension option to make pulling anything out, or reaching to the back of the drawer, easy and painless.
